what code is in the display?
Thanks for the replies.
All the toners and drums were genuine HP, tried all the above, install each in turn - got same problem.
The problem turned out to be the CRG Driver PCB Assy / Print Cartridge Drive Controller PCB (RG5-7882-000CN)
Replaced this board - all working - Happy Days
I have moved and elder HP LaserJet 4600DN from the storage place into an office, in order to temporarily replace a defective printer.
I cannot remove any cartridge. They are moveable on the right side, but the left side is locked. The slider covering the drum of the cartridges closes as soon as you open the lower door.
How do I unlock the cartridges in order to replace them?

My HP Laserjet 600 M602 will not stay in ready mode. Quickly goes to sleep mode and will not print or respond.
Get message Supply Memory Warning; CE390A 10.00.00
Can get it to print if I hit help botton (?), and refresh print mode.
Has error message 49
turn off then turn on
keeps trying to initialize will not print anything.
The only way to get the number is to email tradeSupport@hp.com
before we start patting everyone on the back and telling ourselves how great and wonder we are. Realize that HP is usuing cheap environmentally friendly unleaded solder. Which exposed to heat, will crack.
The use of oven heat simply resettles the solder, and seals the cracks.
Re-doing the whole board however takes time with quality lead solder, but HP is out there to make money, not be your friend.
We are have March 2013 pathes.
Printer information display is blank, printer will not do anything tried turning off and pulling plug. What do I do next?
We've got ongoing problems with print jobs taking 5-15 minutes to be printed to our HP LaserJet 4250 printers. The print job comes out, but doesn't get released from the queue. Then they'll attempt to print something else, and it takes 15 minutes, and each subsequent job is delayed just the same. This occurred on our 32-bit Windows 7 machines and now our 64-bit Windows 7 machines, which we updated a couple months ago. We are using the PCL 5 driver via Windows Update, installed locally on each machine via a standard TCP/IP port. They are setup with static IP addresses and do not use DHCP or BOOTP. To try and resolve this issue, I've disabled all IPX/SPX, AppleTalk, and DLC/LLC. I've also disabled SLP, mDNS, LPD, telnet, Multicast IPv4, FTP and IPP, leaving only 9100 printing available. I've tried using the universal driver from HP as well as the PCL5 and 6 drivers from Windows Update. To temporarily resolve it, I'll reboot the computer as well as the printer, and the users will print fine for about 2-4 weeks and then it reoccurs. I've tried stopping the print spooler service, deleting the job manually, then restarting the service but the problem immediately reoccurs. I've tried replacing the formatter board on one of the but it reoccurred. Sometimes I have to perform a cold reset on the printer and then that resolves it for the same 2-4 week period. I've tried making network changes from replacing Ethernet cables to changing the switch ports to strip out quality of service and preventing it from receiving any voice traffic from the voice vlan. I checked in Event Viewer under and don't see any entries logged, nor do I see error on the printer logs. We have about 30 of these printers and they all experience this behavior at one time or another. Is anyone aware of other steps I can try? Thanks!
Have you installed the Full Software Solution from HP's website? The link is here: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/public/psi/swdHome/?sp4ts.oid=3558903
If that is not an option for you, in which manner are you installing the printer when you reinstall it?
Is this printer networked? Log onto the web interface page and on the Print tab click Manage trays, be sure Tray 1 is set to Any Size and Any type, the other trays should be set to Letter and Plain unless you have other uses for them. Also set "Use Requested tray" to Exclusively and set Manually Feed Prompt to "Unless Loaded" and it should automatically print from Tray 1.
