Wifi Issues with HP m451dw

Hello everyone,

I am using an HP m451dw printer over my wireless network (no Ethernet or USB connection).

Basically, the printer is working well.  All machines including the router can see it and printing works...

However, sometimes (actually very often...), the printer seems to lose the wifi signal and thus becomes unreachable. This sucks, obviously...

When this happens, I run the "network test" from the "wireless menu" (buttons and LCD on the printer), and it says (prints out) that the WPA passphrase was refused or that the MAC address was blocked by the router (most of the time the MAC address is the culprit according to the results of the test). However it then instantly start again working like a charm and prints out jobs that were on stand-by. This means that there is obviously nothing wrong with either the WPA passphrase nor the MAC address.

My printer gets its IP via DHCP but I setup the router to give it the same IP every time...

I thought maybe the printer has a hard time getting the wifi signal back when it wakes up so I disabled "sleep" and "power down" in the ecoSMART console (previously, all events were setup to wake the printer: USB, LAN, Wireless, Button). However, this doesn't change anything...

I don't know what to do to troubleshoot the problem any further now...

Any thoughts?

Best,

-a-
