Hate to ask a stupid question, but I know you changed toners, but have you confirmed it is the slot and not the toner. Simple to test, go to the diagnostics menu and choose the item disable cartridge check. When the printer says ready, diagnostics mode, open the front door and swap the black and yellow toners. Close the door and do the pq troubleshooting again from the menu and see if it prints black or yellow. If it prints black, then the toner cartridge is the issue and nothing else. If it prints yellow, then the issue will probably will related to the laser/scanner or its attachment to the dc controller. Remember there is a shutter that closes when the toner door is opened to prevent toner from getting into the optics. If that shutter mech is not working right it is possible the yellow slot shutter is not opening. You can test when you replace the laser/scanner to see if the shutter is moving when the door is closed. As to cost this can not be us cost. Heck I can sell you a dc controller for that model for 50.00.
