Colors seem purpleish when printing photos. Turns out it's a problem with printing yellow.
We tried replacing the yellow toner cartridge, and that didn't fix it.
In PQ TROUBLESHOOTING, the yellow page is 99% blank except for a thin (16th of an inch) horizontal line at the very top of the page.
In the configuration page, all of the various areas that should have yellow are mostly blank, except for the same sort of thin horizontal line at the top of each of those areas. After upgrading the firmware from 03.001.0 to 03.016.0: in addition to what is described about the configuration page, some of the areas in the configuration page that should have yellow, have a faint magenta in addition to this yellow line.
Our technician has come in many times, and has so far tried replacing the hvps, laser scanner, toner alignment kit, and formatter board. Nothing has improved the issue. Next up for replacement is the dc controller ($1000).
Does anyone here have an opinion of what might be causing this issue? It seems like they're just throwing parts at it and we're about to tell them to give up.
