3600n network connection issues on Windows 7 64gb

Trying to connect a Color Laserjet 3600n to my network using an ethernet to my router on Windows 7 64 bit.  Had the printer connected via usb with no issues.  Have tried most of the "fixes" on the posts here but have gotten it to work on my desktop Win 7 64 bit, laptop Win 7 64 bit or desktop Vista 64 bit.  Tried the Vista host on both Win 7's already and also manual configurations.  Consider myself to be pretty tech savvy and have been fooling around for around 6 hours to no avail.

Did you mean "haven't"?  (You can correct this by Post Options > Edit Reply.)

Can you print out a configuration page on your printer to see what the IP address is?

1.With printer off ,turn on..  when memory starts to count hold the X button until all 3 led are lit then press the ok button and menue button.

2.You should have Program File To Slot0 NAND on the display.

3. Use the down arrow to Run Boot Image.. press ok so the B is highlited.

4.arrow down to Reset Processor then ok Easter Egg then ok.Reset both of these.

5.Follow steps 1 tru 2 again ,down arrow to

HP Network Printer (will it print the owner's name or number on his finished work?"

I have a networked printer in a high school computer lab. We are using Windows 7 on all computers. The common printer is an HP Laserjet p3015. Can I set it to print the owner's name or number? I want to see if each student is printing his own work. Catch the cheaters?

Hello, what driver are you using? If you are using PCL 6, I would try to install PCL 5 and see if the issue goes away. I have seen similar issues caused by the PCL 6 driver, this would also cause a PCXL error as well.

Hope this helps.....

Hello, the issue is with the browser. I have seen this issue with the latest version of IE. Does not matter which model of HP if the firmware is up to date or not, if you print using the toolbar print icon it will generate a 49 error. The way around it, is show the users to print from the website's print "hyper-link", this will bring up a converted, printable version, of the webpage, and you should hae no problem printing after that.

Hope this helps......

Hello, first things first, have you changed the paper handling settings on tray 1 to envelope 10? I ask because in your post it seems you made the setting on the PC but did not mention if you had changed it on the actual printer.

Hope this helps......

Hello, how is your network setup? Do you have a print server? How many people are able to print to the machine? If you connect with nothing you see in the que, there might be another que on another workstation that is sending the "bad" print job. Also, if you directly connect to the printer, then I would suggest that the problem may be the formatter. When you say directly connect to the printer, are you getting a laptop off the network and connecting just straight to the printer?

Hope this helps.....

Most times it is a job someplace that is trying to print and causing the issue. I have had some success with some printers, by pressing the cancel button as it warms up to the point where it asks to cancel the current job and I answer yes. You have to be quick and if it starts processing to long, then the error will appear.

No defect and odds are the tray is lifting. Easy to tell, just look at the level on the left side of the tray. If it moves when the tray is inserted then the tray has lifted. Most times the issue you are having is due to worn pickup roller. They are easy to replace so just remove the roller and look at the rubber. If worn in one area that is your problem.

Re: Customize PCL 6 (PCLXL) stream

PCL XL (which uses a binary post-fix format) is a much more structured language than the escape-basedPCL5Page Description Language.

As such, once you understand the structure, it is quite easy to generate a PCL XL print stream; but it is much more difficult to manipulate an existing print stream.

If you read the available PCXL XL specification documents, you'll see what I mean; to obtain this documentation:

  • Navigate to the developer web site http://www.hpdevelopersolutions.com
  • Then select the "Public Software Development Kits" option.
  • Then select the "LaserJet and Digital Sender" kit area.
  • Then select the "Printer Languages | PCL 6 | PCL 6 documents" folder, which gives access to various PCL6 documents (most are in PDF format).

The PRN File Analyse tool in the PCL Paraphernalia (Windows) application (available via http://www.pclparaphernalia.eu ) can be used to analyse/decode captured PCL5 and PCL XL print streams.

... and to "... manipulate duplex, simplex, multiplecontroleach sideadjusted ..." probably implies changing the entries in the Attribute List associated with BeginPageoperators in the PCL XL print stream.

They'd probably only be a problem if you (or anyone with nefarious purposes in mind who has access to the devices) also has access to any printers of a similar vintage which the SIMM device might fit, or who can read/copy the contents of the 'cartridge'.

But I'd keep them under lock and key until you come to destroy them, just in case.

HP Color Laserjet CP4525dn does not print anymore...

As the title states;

My HP Color Laserjet CP4525dn does not print anymore using my ASUS Windows 8.1 Laptop. Worked fine for awhile now I only get errors.

Things I have tried:

1. Unistalling and Re-installing all drivers

2. Swapping printers (using another CP4525)

3. Replacing the USB cable

4. Trying my wifes computer (same model)

5. Using the Print and Scan Doctor 4.4

6. Using both USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports

7. Plugging in multiple HP and other brand printers (all worked fine)

The problem seems to be related specifically to this model printer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,

Jason

What are the errors you get and are they on the printer or the laptop?

I assume Windows 7 has a way to print separate banner pages.

Or were you thinking of watermarks over the printing?

The Laptop. When you go to print the first time after unistalling and reinstalling the correct driver; the printer sounds as though it is going to print the test page but nothing happens. After that all you get is the selected driver is in error state.

Maybe the usb port on the printer has gone bad but that would be rare. First thing you want to do is go to the information menu on the printer and see if you can print a config page. If you can that means the printer is working. If it is working see if you can attach the printer to your router as a wired ethernet printer. This way you should be able to assign or have assigned a ip address which you can then use to attach the printer to your laptop and any other computer on your network.
