I had the same problem, and I downloaded the PCL 5 as suggested. It eliminated this particular problem but gave me another, very serious problem --- I could no longer collate. The only way to be able to collate was to uninstall and re-install the printer, going back to the original PCL 6 driver. It appears that when you change drivers like this, you lose the collating ability. With the PCL 5 driver I can print the 11 x 17 documents (which I can't with the PCL 6 driver), but I can't collate anything. When you're running 800 newsletters, you don't want to have to collate them all by hand. Does anyone have a real solution to this problem?

Startup issue on P3005n
Hello. I have a client who has a Laserjet P3005n, and upon powering on the printer, it is stuck at a message saying (5 of 6" as if it is goign through warm-up or self-checks. I am unable to locate any information on this issue.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Re: Startup issue on P3005n
That's a very commonly known issue with the FORMATTER board in the 3005.....
Google..'baking the 3005 formatter board'......for more instructions
Re: Startup issue on P3005n
We will replace the formatter. Thanks for the help!

Re: P4015/4515 firmware upgrade issue 04.170.3 Resend Upgrade problem
Not sure if you still have the printer (or the problem) but I had the same issue getting past the solid lights. You need to be quick at hitting OK and Menu afterward or it won't actually go through. So once you held cancel long enough for the lights to go solid, immediately hit OK and Menu and it should bring you to the next step.
How to edit print presets?
I have just bought a LaserJet Pro 400 Color M451dn, as a replacement for a 2605dn which died. I am connected to a Mac computer running the latest OS 10.9 Mavericks. I also downloaded and installed the latest printer driver from HP v. 12.34.34.
I inherited the printer presets which I had defined for the previous printer. These are named sets of printer settings (media, feed, duplex, etc.) which can be selected from a drop-down list in the printer dialog box. But there are some things which are slightly different between the two printers, and I now want to edit these presets.
There appears to be no obvious way to do this. It is easy to see what the presets are, as there is an item in the presets list to allow this, but they can't be edited (only deleted). The only way I have found is to open a Print dialog box, choose the preset, make changes, then save it back with the same name. But this only works if you actually print with that preset then and there, otherwise the changes get cancelled.
Is there any editor for these presets that doesn't actually require me to open a Print dialog and do a print? I want to get all my presets lined up for future use.
Thanks.
LaserJet 400 Pro - inconsistent printing black in graphics
Hi, lately I have noticed that when I print graphics on my LaserJet 400 Pro, the black sometimes prints nice and dark, and other times lighter, with a grayer look. Today I printed a Photoshop file in the morning and it looked great, but when I did it again later, having changed none of the settings, the black was noticeably lighter.
Whether the printer is warmed up or just turned on, black still varies from day to day and print to print. There is plenty of toner, and I ran the cleaning process but it hasn't helped. Any suggestions?
LaserJet 2100TN
I have a LaserJet 2100TN that has an ip address already encoded. I need to remove the ip address, there is no display for me to see what I am doing. How do I change the ip address to this printer?
cannot print multiple copies
When I click on FILE, PRINT, and select 2 or more copies, the printer will only print one copy.
I am using a HP Laserjet 1300 pcl5, product number q1334a
Windows 7 v6.1, service pack 1, 64 bit
No error messages
Latest driver is installed
I added this printer (usb) to a new Windows 7 computer
This printer worked perfectly on my old Window XP computer
I can print multiple copies from my Canon 9000 inkjet printer
Am I stuck printing only 1 copy at a time on my laserjet? Or is there a soloution to this problem? I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks !
Tom
Laserjet 300 won't print anything
Hello,
We have a HP LaserJet Pro 300 Color MFP M375 which won't print anymore.
It doesn't find any WiFi anymore (while there are 4), it doesn't recoignize the USB stick, it doesn't respond to the USB cable from the PC, it does not scan and it doesn't print any system reports.
The touchscreen of the printer works perfect. I can choose anything, but when a job is given, it doesn't start that job but goes back to the home menu.
I tried to change the settings from the pc using the cd, but the printer doesn't seem to respond to the pc.
Anybody an idea?
It seems to me that the software of the printer is not good. Can i give the printer a hard reset? (I restarted the printer many time)
Greetings
Re: LaserJet 2100TN
Cold Reset
To perform a cold reset, turn the printer power off, then press and hold the JOB CANCEL
button. Turn the printer power back on and after all the LEDs come on release the JOB
CANCEL button.
You wait about 2 minutes after the printer comes to ready and then press the job cancel button and press the big go button and then release both which will now cause the printer to print a config page. The second page that comes out will be the network settings and will display the new ip address the printer found via bootp or dhcp. You can use this address to setup the printer. Changing the address to a manual address may be difficult since this printer probably has a jet direct 600N card whose web page requires older java code and will not work on most computers. You could try by typing in the ip address into you web browser and see if the web page comes up and if it does you can change the network settings to an address of your choice by choosing manual. If the card is a later card it should come up. Another method is to use the host name of the card when you add the printer instead of the ip address. The host name will start with NPI.
Re: cannot print multiple copies
Try opening the driver properties, click on Device Settings, scroll down and disable Mopier mode, see if that helps.
Re: Extended toner cartridge 64x acts like 64a and runs out of toner at 10000 pages.
Just to follow up on this discussion, I took out the toner cartridge once more and gave it a few strong blows on the sides. Miraculoulsy, the toner started working again.
It seems the contents must have been slightly caked up or stuck. Never heard of that before. We'll see how many more pages we get, but it has been working fine since.
Thanks all!
HP 3505 cuts Header/Footer in half in Landscape mode only
I'm having this issue on a HP 3505 printer. Whenever I print in landscape mode either in color or B&W, it cuts off half of the header and the footer. It doesn't do this on portrait mode. And when I print to a HP 2300 in landscape it's fine there as well. This happens on all print jobs for the HP 3505 in landscape.
I'm wondering how to fix this. I changed the driver. I went into the settings and everything looked great. I updated the printer firmware to the latest. Nothing has resolved this. Using Win 7 32 bit and the printer is networked.
See attached for example
LaserJet 500 color M551DN - fails to send emails
Hello,
I hope somebody can help.
The device can send status mails, about missing toner etc.
But when I try to configure it, and test it, the mail server will reject the mail with:
Aug 2 10:23:27 server postfix/smtpd[6017]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from printer.network[X.X.X.X]: 504 5.5.2 <wince>: Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname; from=<foo@sytem.network> to=<foo@system.network> proto=ESMTP helo=<wince>
I think the problem is, that the pirnter will not send an correct HELO comamnd.
Where can I set this at the printer?
Re: cannot print multiple copies
Hi DepotINTL,
Thanks a lot !! That solved the problem. My computer repairman didn't have an answer. I have no idea what a Mopier mode is, but I guess it keeps smart guys like you busy.
Thanks again,
Tom
Re: LaserJet 1320 Not Printing Multiple Copies Anymore
My solution was to turn off 'collate' and then suddenly I was able to print multiple copies.
Seems to be a flaw in the firmware or software....
Hope that helps.....Worked for me....
HP Laserjet 4050 Series 6 print problem
Hi, I have a laserjet 4050, when trying to print from some site my printer is not listed and I get error message " set up incomplete because of metered connection". What does this mean and how do I get connected.
Re: Error 53.10.03 on HP COLOR LJ 4550
1. This info might be a little bit too late for you, but in case other people seeking help... .. .
2. Turn off the printer, pull mains cable and after 15 seconds pull out Formatter board.
3. Heat up soldering iron, pore soldering flux on six SRAM memories (IDT71V256) and resolder them (no additional tin rquired). Work on Antistatic surface - ground yourself while touching the board!
4. After finishing with solder, wait until board cools down and clean flux with PCB cleaner (or pure Ethanol)
5. Check for solder shorts using good magnifying glass. Go back to point 3. and resolder any problematic pins (shorted).
6. Reasemble everything and power on.
NOTE: It took me about five inutes to resolder these and worked out right away. I cannot guarantee anyone can do it (depends on skills). Also "The Warranty" in case you have it :-) will be void with this inaction :-))))
