intelligent tray selection

Hi all!

Might be more of a software question, but still related to LaserJets. We are running LJ 2015 and 2055 printers with two separate paper input trays which are selected manually, based on the content printed (physical attributes of the paper in trays are identical, both A4).

Basically, one of the trays is used to print out specific content, which is identifiable by part of the file name (there can also be numbers which will vary, but the text part will remain the same). All other printing jobs are assigned to the other tray.

At the moment, the user will have to manually adjust the proper tray in the print window, but I'm looking for a more intelligent option, where the printer would automatically adjust the tray based on the file name which is being printed, with no manual interference needed.

The current network setup is pretty standard, with IP-based printing. No designated print servers are being used. Any chance this could be achieved? I would definitely prefer a PC-based solution (perhaps with the help of PCL?), but if no other option, I guess installing a separate print server could be an option too.

Thanks a lot in advance!
