Getting a lines of cramped wingdings instead of printing

Hello gang,

A few days ago, I had a user printing "gibberish" from his local printer. This gibberish turned out to be a multitude of pages containing a line or two of cramped wingdings. A colleage told me reprofiling the users account, and clearing out his added printers and readding them would clear it up. Apparently it did, but the same issue has returned. After clearing out the my documents on the users computer, removing and readding the printer, he was printing happily. Now more folks have the same issue. I have heard of it previously, but not in a recurring situation like this.

Any ideas? Or if I am reposting an issue thats been reported before, any references?

Regards,

FZ

Further:

Printer is an HP CP5525

Using WindowsXP Professional SP3

Printer can function by itself, as in print its own test pages and diagnostics etc

It is connected physically, with an ethernet cable

The printer is not currently surge protected.

Thanks for the assist.
