We have Laserjet m401n-dn-dne at our locations in different geographical areas. I have a situation where some of these printers are installed by the local IT companies and they have only followed the "installation wizard" that comes with the printer CD so it installs the printer by it's "hostname" (and, does not display any IP address). If there's a problem with the printer, I generally access the printer's web console via IP address, however, if I only have the printer's "hostname" and no IP address, how do I access it?
Note that I don't have access to these locations so I can only connect to a PC remotely at these locations. I do not have physical access to the printers so I'm not able to press buttons and look at the screen on the printer. In addition, most of my work is done after hours so I don't have the convenience of walking someone through the steps over the phone.
If I can't get the printer page via hostname what are my other options?
