P2055DN electric current balance exceeds DIN Standard value

Dear Sir or Madam,

We have sold several HP P2055DN Laserjet Printing devices to our customers over the years - so at present our customers own devices with and without guarantee and the issue I will describe affects both the devices with and without guarantee. The oldest devices we have bought as new are from August 2012.

A client recently had to hire an electrician to ensure that all electrical devices fulfill the DIN VDE Standard 0701-0702 in regards to electronical functionality and safety. We have received a report stating that several HP P2055DN devices exceed the electric current balance values as required by the VCE DIN Standard 0701- 0702:

The Standard says, that devices shall not exceed the electrical current value of 0,500 miliampare - when they do, the devices have to be replaced or taken out of service. Even if the devices are in general still working, in the event of an insurance case (such as fire) the insurance companies won't pay when they come to know that such devices have still been in service.

My questions in this regard would be:

- is this issue affecting a particuluar product series of HP P2055DN devices and are those devices shipped with a bad electrical current value by default? If so, please tell us the affected product series so we can avoid the issues.
- can the value of the electrical current balance change to the negative over time?
- is there a way to fix the bad electrical current value?

Thank you very much for your assistance and best regards,

GDE
