We're using preprinted checks in payroll and the printer is ghosting the MIC-R codes at the bottom of each check, causing smudges and repeats on the other checks. We installed a new maintenance kit, ran cleaner sheets through the unit and replaced the toner cartridge with no change.
The environment in the office is relatively high humidity being near the water, but it stays cool. I'm thinking either impression rollers or the fuser unit needs to be tweaked to eliminate this issue. Which way to go on this is the question or does anyone else have ideas or suggestions.
