Here is the setup:
Print Server is on a Windows Server 2012 64bit box
Clients are all Windows 7 but are mixed 64bit and 32bit
One room has a P2015dn laserjet with the queue on the server and being handed out to the client via Group Policy
Using the "HP Laserjer P2015 PS Class Driver" 64bit Driver Version 6.2.9200.16430
This specific computer is 64bit
The problem:
About once a month the user in this room complains that she is unable to use the automatic duplexing option on her printer anymore. So I go to the printer properties and the Device Settings Tab -> Installable Options -> Duplex Unit (for 2-sided printing) option gets set to "Not Installed". I can go in and switch it to "Installed" and this fixes the issue for about a month. Then the report comes back in that automatic duplexing is not working again.
Can anyone think of why this option keeps getting set to "Not Installed"? The user does only has "Print" and "Manage Documents" security rights on the printer. So I find it hard to believe that she'd be able to fumble her way in to changing the setting "on accident." When this issue first appeared I did re-create the printer, and of course it fixed the issue for about a month or so. But it has been re-appearing just about monthly since then. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
