The formatter is the board that the cable from the computer or network plugs into.  Not hard to get to as you just remove the back cover and when looking from the back it is the board on the left side.  Unfortunately it appears the part is scarce and quite expensive.  The first thing you need to do is an engine test to confirm the formatter is the issue.  The instructions are attached.  To be honest you might be better off purchasing a used 2605dn as some of them go fairly cheap on ebay.  Below is a link to one.

HP LaserJet Pro 400 M451

Our Laserjet 400 erases white space. For example a PDF document with a logo at the top, some text in the middle and address at the bottom comes out with all this information shifted to the top side of the page. It completely disregards the layout. It also happens to other document types, like .cdr or .doc

Any ideas?

Thanks for the commands...

We had tried the code attached, but we are not getting the desired output.

Can you please go through the attachement that i tried, with the help of your code.

Black lines are  drawn using PCL commands and red lines are drawn using HPGL/2 commands you provided.

Same coordinates are using for both  PCL and HPGL/2 commands . But HPGL/2  is showing on the top section.

I also tried to change the scale factor (SC) and positions (IP) , but not getting a uniform scale factor.

Actually I need the red line and black line on same location

Can you please help me...

I don't see any color when viewing your file. I don't see any PCL lines either.

Attached is 'hpgl2.txt that has a line of text in PCL with a vertical plot going down from the same origin as the first letter in the text.

I should point out that with the PCL and HP-GL/2 coordinate systems being congruent, the hpgl plots will be different. Before +Y values moved up the page, but now like PCL, +Y values move down the page.

The print que shows the first doc is being deleted after it prints and this takes as much as 15 minutes, so the next doc in

the que will not print until the deletion finishes.   I tried a different printer and it works fine.  I've replaced the USB cable and deleted and reinstalled the printer, but the problem still exists.   Thanks for your help.

CP3505 Laser printer not printing yellow on photos

$

Printer:

CP3505 512MB RAM

Problem:
Printer does not appear to print yellow on photographs. We print a lot of documents with text and photographs in. Everything is great - text is crisp and clear, no streaking, blurring or marks. The only problem is with photos - they seem to be lacking yellow. Printing yellow as text, or blocks of colour on standard graphics, works perfectly.

Tried so far:
1) Replaced the yellow cart a number of times. Sometimes it works for a while, then the problem returns.
2) Called an engineer to fix - useless! Recommended a main board replacement, which was done, to no avail. Money refunded from engineer's company, but still left with an unneeded main board!
3) Updated drivers - all drivers available have been tried. Currently using very latest PS driver.
4) Run PQ diagnostics regularly - shows no fault with the yellow cart. The green/yellow and yellow/green test page prints perfectly, as does the final mixed colour test page.
5) Tried swapping the carts (yellow/cyan) and attempting a test print, but the printer won't allow it. Tried to disable cart checking in diagnostics menu, but won't allow that either.
6) Using genuine HP yellow cart.

The main computer that holds the print queue is running XP, however the error is generated from any computer. This includes one running Ubuntu 12.10.

Can anyone offer help or advice?

Cheers,

Adam

HP LJ 4350 printing envelopes very slow.

I have a LJ 4350 that will print an envelope and pause about 3 or 4 seconds in between printing the next one. It is running Windows 7. It has 336 DDR RAM on board. Client said it started printing slow after a technician came and looked at it one time. I have tried changing all the settings i could on it and it still prints slow. I have also updated the firmware on it. Any trouble shooting ideas?

Re: Using HP Color LaserJet 3500 with Windows 7 (32 bit)

The 3500 wil work with Windows 7.  It will work across the network via IP, but it will not deploy via group policy and work.  If you have a standalone machine, use the Windows Vista 32-bit or 64-bit drivers.  I've been doing it since Windows 7 was released and it works.

I have not been able to get the Universal Print Driver to do more than give me a Kernal error.   The printer will deploy via group policy but does not work.  It will deploy with a Vista 64-bit driver and will print, but will not deploy with the 32-bit drivers installed.

The 3500 is a lot like Windows ME.  It's kind of the unwanted step child.

m451nw woes

Just bought/installed brand new m451nw wireless printer.

Wireless printing from one computer (or any phone) - works perfectly.

But from another station, jobs will print 1-2 pages and then the printer spontaneously cancels the job with the computer advising that the job cannot print.

Advice?

Hi. I am having a similar problem as the original poster.  I am using  Vista 64.

The error messages I receive when trying to print are:

Error Processing Command (in the print screen) and

Printer is not connected to a USB port.

I have switchewd USB cables twice and to confirm that they are not the problem.  Also, I am able to get this printer to work via USB and wirelessly.

Any specific recommendations would be appreciated.

You should be able to disable cartridge check. When you go to the diagnostics menu make sure you have all 4 toners in their correct slots. Now choose the item disable cartridge check and the printer should go to checking printer and then end up saying ready diagnostics mode. When it says that you should be able swap the cartridges to confirm you do not have a slot issue. What bothers me is it works fine when printer other graphics, and only seems to occur when doing photographs. To be honest this is not the best printer to print on photo paper is that is what you are doing. Also make sure you are setting the paper type to glossy or whatever type of photo paper you are using. If you print the photo on plain paper do you have the same problem.

HP LaserJet P1102W on Windows Surface RT :(

I am using Microsoft Surface RT tablet, but have not been able to install the device specific driver that works with this printer on the tablet. Have gone through a lot of threads on this forum as well as on google on this subject. The "Windows Update" could not complete when trying to fetch drivers for P1102W.

The other compatible driver "HP LaserJet Mono PCLm Class Driver" does not work properly. As I try to print using this Mono PCLm driver, most of the times, after printing few pages, it gets stuck and I have to reboot the printer and restart the job. If I print the same document from my Windows 7 laptop on the P1102W driver, it works like a charm.

Why can't HP release the Windows RT specific driver for P1102W? Both printer and OS are new and these should be compatible.

Well, it fails the engine test too--means the formatter isn't the issue? I do see that there are relatively inexpensive units on ebay--but I'd like to understand and fix this one if possible. It hasn't been used very much. Any more suggestions? I very much appreciate your help!
