Common issue on this series. Your formatter has developed cold solder joints on the main processor. Have seen 100's of these with the M1522 and P2015. There is a fix you can do yourself that works 95% of the time. You need to remove the left side cover and the big board is the formatter. Remove all connectors going to that board and remove the board from the printer. If there is any tape by the memory slot remove it. Now place the board in a baking pan with the chips facing up and the board propped up so the bottom does not touch the pan. Now preheat a "good" oven to 350F (177C) and when the oven is ready, place the pan with the board in the oven for 8 minutes. Remove and let cool for 15 minutes. Place back in the printer, make all the connections, cross your fingers and turn it on. You will have to put the date and time back in as that always seems to get lost but everything else will be there and the printer should now work just fine.
