We have been running solid with the solution mentioned here ever since we applied it to our fleet of 3015s. No further issues have been reported from our users in those areas.
If you are uncertain about the consequences then try deploying to only the machines that report problems rather than to them all. That way if there is an unknown consequence you still have some older firmware 3015s that you can swap out.
