Laserjet P4515x Printer - Firmware Upgrade causes Checking Paper Path status

Hi

I recently upgraded our P4515X printer to the latest firmware on the HP website using the "HP Easy Firmware Upgrade Utility" and a USB cable. This was done with initially with the printer on top of 3 expansion paper trays and the duplexer installed. After doing some additional research online i discovered that you need to perform the firmware upgrade with no accessories attached to the printer.

After removing the trays and the duplexer I reloaded the firmware upgrade and it rebooted the printer on its own. I did see some messages on the screen saying "resend upgrade" but cleared these using the instructions i found here: http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Printers-LaserJet-Experts-Online/P4015-4515-firmware-upgrade-issue-04-170-3-Resend-Upgrade/td-p/5829649#.UjDBFcbkvh4

I can see that it appears to be installed by printing a configuration page.

Product Name: HP LaserJet P4515
Printer Name: MK Printer

Model Number: CB516A
DC Controller: 16
Printer Serial Number: **********
Formatter Number: LA4354B

Firmware: 20130510 04.191.1

The problem is now, regardless of which tray the printer sits on top of now, i always get the same message on the status screen when the printer is rebooted. "Checking Paper Path" and nothing will be allowed to print to the printer (it does print as a standalone printer just fine... with no trays attached).

I've tried rotating which expansion tray the printer is on, and always get the same result. I don't believe that all 3 expansion trays are defective / damaged now. This would most likely appear to be a problem with the printer itself not recognizing how to utilize them. I have no problems with the duplexer re-attached.

How do i get this printer to start using the add on trays again?

I've tried again flashing the firmware using the "HP Easy Firmware Upgrade Utility" while it sits on one of the trays, but the upgrade utility just sits a 1.100% and never reboots.

I'm hoping we can get this resolved as this is a high capacity printer when all these trays are functioning. Thanks in advance for any help!
