When this happens if you go to the printer and print a config page from the menu, does it work? If it does I would still think you are having network issues and not printer issue since rebooting the computers fixes the issue for a short time. Another thing I would try is to reset the printer so it goes to dhcp or bootp and finds a new ip address. I would then load that address onto one computer as local tcp/ip and see if the issues persists. Also you mention you setup 2 of these and the impression I get is that it is happening to both. If that is correct I am 99% sure it is your network and not the printers. If only happening to 1 printer, swap the printers, physical location and ip address and see if the same printer has the issue. If it has the same issue contact hp customer care since these printers have a 1 year on-site warranty. If the other printer now has the issue, then you are definitely having network issues. Also if you still have the printer loaded on the server, remove it since the server will still be talking to the printer even if print streams are not going thru it's q.
