I am helping my parents with their LaserJet 1530. The printer is fairly new and was purchased directly from HP online. Seems I set it up back in March 2013. The distinctive ring is enabled for faxing and they have the phone service for it where the fax has its own number. The printer setup is as such it answers on the second ring. However, when calling their primary voice number the fax frequently answers the line.
I have looked for a firmware update and found one, but the "fixes" mentions nothing about faxing. Due to how frequent this answers, I have just installed the latest firmware as it's unbearable. My father wants to turn it off as it seems to happen for each call and rightfully so, its embarrassing for those calling. To complicate things I am doing this work remote and I am very disappointed in not being able to make changes to the menu from the web interface.
I have the settings (taken from the web interface that are "fax" related, but I am at a loss for what the problem can be. I don't know what F/T is but can anyone look at these and tell me if I am dealing with a defective printer, or I have some setting I can change so that it will work as expected?
Thanks,
Rob
