We have been using a code 3of9 barcode font which we download as a soft font to our laserjet printers. The soft font stays permanent on all of our older printers until we turned off the printers. However it behaves differently on the newer Laserjet p2055 (CE459A) or Laserjet Pro 400 m401 (CZ195A). The symptoms are as follows:
1) Code 3of9 barcode soft font is sent to the printer.
2) Print a Oracle report containing the barcode - no problem.
(Note: I can print this same Oracle report many days later and it will still print the barcode without any problem.)
3) Now lets say I print a Microsoft Office file or some other Oracle reports after step (2) above.
4) Reprint that Oracle report containing the barcode - barcode soft font gone!!!
What is causing the soft font to get deleted?
How do I prevent this soft font from being deleted in between different print jobs except when I power cycle the printer?
