i tried what you suggested. in my case i added \\pc26\hplj1200 as a local port on my windows 8 machine when the printer was installed as a local printer on lpt1 already. the pc26 btw is on winxp and the printer is connected via usb.
i was very surprised when the printer started printing on the 2nd floor, but it only printed crap... sites of codes and smileys
did i do smth wrong?
