I have just bought a LaserJet Pro 400 Color M451dn, as a replacement for a 2605dn which died. I am connected to a Mac computer running the latest OS 10.9 Mavericks. I also downloaded and installed the latest printer driver from HP v. 12.34.34.
I inherited the printer presets which I had defined for the previous printer. These are named sets of printer settings (media, feed, duplex, etc.) which can be selected from a drop-down list in the printer dialog box. But there are some things which are slightly different between the two printers, and I now want to edit these presets.
There appears to be no obvious way to do this. It is easy to see what the presets are, as there is an item in the presets list to allow this, but they can't be edited (only deleted). The only way I have found is to open a Print dialog box, choose the preset, make changes, then save it back with the same name. But this only works if you actually print with that preset then and there, otherwise the changes get cancelled.
Is there any editor for these presets that doesn't actually require me to open a Print dialog and do a print? I want to get all my presets lined up for future use.
Thanks.
