Printing & Ink Probs

Hi. I own an HP LaserJet CM1312MFP Series (which has a scanner included). It is connected to a Windows XP computer. However, since this is a network capable printer, anyone on the network can access it. The printer's been having problems for some time now, and it deals with the ink spilling out in the front tray, as well as some other printing problems. Each time I want to print, the first page it prints is a nonsense page with alternating, parallel black and white lines. After the first one or two pages, it stops - and may go back to normal after that. The ink has been spilling out in the front and the back, in spite of us changing the black and white cartridge when it asked us to. We barely if ever print in color, but some time ago, the color cartridge spilled out in the machine and if one was to open it, you will see the splotches of ink within the printer.

Oh, and another thing. Each page that I print sometimes has a streak of ink on the right side of each page.

We have been unable to solve this problem on our own, so we decided to consult the forum for solutions. I would love to know how I can solve, or prevent this occurrence.
