I am one of the original bakers. Here is what you do. Remove the left side cover. Just need a flat blade screw driver and open the toner door and use the flat blade to pry the back side of the cover near the top and bottom away from the frame. Now remove all the cables that go to the board which is the formatter. Remove the 4 screws that secure it to the frame. Now remove the piece of tape that is by the memory expansion slot. Now take the board and prop in up in a baking pan with the chips up and making sure the bottom of the board does not touch the pan. Preheat a good oven to 350F (177C) and when the oven is ready, place the pan with the board in the oven for 8 minutes. Remove and let cool for 10 minutes. Put back in the printer connect all cables, keep your fingers crossed and turn it on. Odds are it will now work. When you first turn it on the top two light should come on solid and stay that way for 10 to 15 seconds, then they go out and the next light will come on and then the lights will begin to cycle. Good Luck.
