Problem:
After a period of time (usually weeks / months) the primary system will loose connection with the printer.
Setup:
1. Hard (wired) Network connections
2. System 1 (primary) 64 bit Win 7 (With downloaded drivers)
3. System 2/3 32 bit Win XP (With HP supplied drivers from CD)
Steps:
1. Install OS/Drivers as documented.
2. Run primary system (Win 7/64) 24x7 for -several weeks-
3. Random times try to print
Results:
After period of time, the windows 7 system will show the printer as being "off line".
Printing from other two systems will work.
Steps taken:
1. Reset printer (power cycle) - no success
2. Reset system (power cycle) - no success
3. Restart job on Win 7 / 64 - no success
4. Delete and re-print job on Win 7 / 64 - no success
5. Print from ANY Win XP / 23 - SUCCESS
- Note: Additional steps were taken with variations of reset jobs and reset printer.
Interim work around:
1. Delete printer from "devices"
2. Re-add printer from "devices" (using same/existing driver)
-- Printer / Success (But will fail again after a period of time)
Additional info:
HP Print and Scan Dr. 3.1 is of no use, it does does detect the printer, but cannot connect to it. (Appears to try to use the driver) After re-install driver,
