LaserJet 3015 scanner can not be installed (Xp 32)

Oli-from-Oz has posted an issue 2 ys ago, but unfortunately I can not find any answer. Let me please post is again because I have a same problem:

"I can not make my scanner work on my HPLaserJet 3015 printer. It was working until about a week ago when I reinstalled the software due to some errors. Since then when I want to scan – whether I initiate it from the scanner or from the PC – it comes up with a message that the scanner needs to be installed. I have to say OK, after which it comes back with a message that it can not find the required file “scan.msi”. When I point to the file location, which is in the software installation package, a new message comes up saying that this is not a valid installation file. If I want to cancel it goes back and starts the install process again. In other words I can not cancel this. The only way to stop it is via the Task Manager. All this is vary annoying, but most importantly I can not use my scanner which I need.
I tried most things: uninstalling the printer and the whole HP software package and reinstalling from scratch. I even downloaded and updated the printer’s firmware, but I can’t get the scanning function work. The printer as such works fine.
Any ideas without having to come here and work it through yourself? I’m jus t super frustrated about this ATM."
