Laserjet CP2025 firmware Won’t Update

Hi. I’m trying to resolve a firmware datecode 20111208 problem with my LaserJet CP2025 installation from a Windows 7 computer.

I’ve downloaded the 20130923 firmware from HP’s website and installed it three times (twice by Ethernet and once by USB) and each time I get a smiley face showing completion. After each installation I’ve checked or printed the printer’s configuration page but found that the datecode remains unchanged at 20111208.

Some other threads in the HP Support Forums say that this problem can be resolved by going to the printer specific menu of service, settings, RFU and then changing the variable from OFF to ON. However, this menu only shows “Begin Cleaning Mode” and no mention of RFU configuration.

I would appreciate your suggestions on how to upgrade the firmware.
