Yesterday after having a maintenance kit installed in our LaserJet 4345, the authorized service tech suggested that the firmware be upgraded on the printer. We were at 28.63 for the J7949E jetdirect, and so we used WebJet Admin to upgrade to 33.21.
At 65%, WebJet displayed a warning. The embedded webpage on the printer stopped working, the printer appeared offline on the print server, and all print jobs got stuck in the queue and wouldn't print. Today, WebJet displayed the printer as having the 33.21 firmware installed, but you still cannot print to it, or access the webpage. You can, however, ping the printer with the IP address we had assigned to it.
In WebJet Admin it shows a 1 next to Short Stack in the firmware section.
I don't know if there is a way to get a hold of a prior firmware, but nearly an entire floor of the company uses this printer, and now they cannot print.
Not sure what to do at this point, as it's out of warranty.
