When I opened the front print cartridge access panel of my color laserjet 3800n to replace the b/w cartridge, I found a broken Green Translucent Belt (I'm guessing it's a belt) laying in the bottom of the printer below the shiny black transfer surface. Does anyone have any idea just what this piece of green translucent spagetti might be? Is it a belt or something that is inconsequential to the printer operation? On other data point, I replaced the black toner cart, fired up the printer and it seems to be working nominally - go figure? If it is a belt I would expect some kind of error message or poor print quality. I'll continue to use the printer but would like to know if catastrophe is just around the corner.
