I have a LaserJet 600 M601 (CE989A) that stopped booting. The preboot diagnostics said a failed hard drive. I got a replacement part from HP partsurfer. I installed the new SSD and installed the ljM601_602_603fw_2302243_421978 firmware from a USB drive.
I ran the preboot diagnostics for HDD and memory and they passed.
The boot process was a bit scary. It got to 2/8 and rebooted. It did that a couple of times. Then it got to 4/8 or 6/8 and rebooted. Finally it booted all the way to ready.
When it was up the network icon had the red circle and slash of not-working-ness.
I can spit out all of the reports. The "How to Connect Page" says "The network interface has stopped unexpectedly. To restart it, turn the device off and then back on."
I tried that. I tried unplugging it. I tried booting with the network cable plugged and with it unplugged.
I am not seeing any error codes displayed.
