I ran into very big trouble. We have an applcation that is printing via two Tomcat spooler server (balancing) on Win2k3 x64 to nine Jet-connected LJ4100 with tray 3. Preprinted paper is fed from tray 2, plane paper from tray 3. These printers were working well using Universal 4.7 driver. For each of both the trays a printer is installed. There is no way to access the printer settings from out of the application.
Now a LJ4250 was added to the network and for that one I installed the dedicated driver. With that one it was not possible to force the use of the right tray. It always tooks paper from tray 3 with the settings in Jet and driver to plain. But Tray 2 with the setting letterhead (or preprinted) only workes once: after pull and push the tray the display says initializing letterhead and one job afterwards prints correctly.
So I setup the printer with Universal 5.8. But that changed nothing to the problem.
But now we have several other printers 4100 that don't work anymore. Even switching/fixing the driver back to 4.7 doesn't cure the problem.
What can I do? Any advice?
