I have hp laserjet 5p, which I connected with centrix to USB cable. Initially (last 6-9 months) it worked fine. Then I downloaded some updates for win7 & it is not working.
So I know cable is good, it recognizes the printer as hp laserjet 5p, in the printer and device section. However, I have once I send a something to be printed it just says "printing" then switches over to "ERROR". So went to the printer properties for the printer, then to the "port section" I have it setup as::
port------------USB001
description-----virtual printer port (also tried std tcp/ip port will no luck))
printer----------Hp laserjet 5P
In back of my mind I think that I had to not use HP5 driver, but use a lesser driver like 2300.... should wrote everything down the first time....
