I have a 2605 that is printing very slowly on Mac OS 10.8 with the latest drivers installed, 19.9. Medium and large jobs will take forever to spool, and will often just fail to print. The printer has the latest firmware installed, 20120413.
Out of curiosity, I installed a 2600 printer in the same network port as the 2605. I let the computer choose the latest driver available for the 2600, 14.4.0. I was then able to print without any speed issues.
I'm currently trying to see if I can "trick" a computer in to using an older driver.
