You are correct, when I run regular copy paper through the printer it does not smoke. But I used a different printer and fuser and I did not get any smoke. It seems that this only happens with a few printers and fusers that I have. I have adjusted the paper type to preprinted and put the fuser mode on low, and I still get smoke.
