This is the work-around as found on some of the Microsoft Forums. HP & Microsoft still need to fix the core problem in the driver so the end user doesn't have to d*ck around with the driver functions, but this should get you off of "high center" and back up & going again. (Thanks to Shane)
After lots of testing I have found a setting that has fixed all my HP CP5520 and HP M4555 printers that were crashing when printing from Office 365's 2013 pro plus.
It's the driver setting in Device settings -> Installable options -> Printer Status notification, this needs to be disabled.
I hope this also fixes other peoples problems.
