We have Cognos on an AIX server which generates PostScript reports. The reports are printed to network printers via LPD; Windows drivers are not involved. One of these reports prints OK on most printers, such as an HP 9050 or even inkjets via GhostScript, but for some reason an HP LaserJet P2055x (or P2055dn) prints this report with a box substituted for the character with the highest ASCII value on the page. Originally, lowercase "y" printed as a box. I asked the user to paste some text into the report with all printable ASCII characters (from "!" to "~" [tilde]). Then "y" printed fine, but "~" began printing as a box.
The report has a small logo in the upper left, but the rest is text. The firmware for the P2055 printers has been flashed to the highest available, but the report still prints incorrectly.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
