Dear all,
I am sticking in the printing problem. My same problem is here (http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Black-and-White/Query-printer-for-Serial-Number/m-p/2672762#.UcgXI6EW05p) but I could not add my question in this thread because it had been closed. Thus I post the same question here.
I want to manage the printer serial-number, which could be retrieve from the Linux OS (Ubuntu 13.10). Currently, I used the lsusb -v to get the iSerialnumber from terminal. And the printer firmware show me these information
idVendor 0x03f0 Hewlett-Packard idProduct 0x042a bcdDevice 1.00 iManufacturer 1 Hewlett-Packard iProduct 2 HP LaserJet Professional M1132 MFP iSerial 3 000000000QH783J9PR1a
But the real serial number in the back of printer is "CNJ8DDFF48". And I want to get the real one by command line (instead of the reading the barcode beside the device). As the recommendation from the thread (http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Black-and-White/Query-printer-for-Serial-Number/m-p/2672762#.UcgXI6EW05p) it looks possible if I use the PJL command from LINUX, however, I can't know how to download and use this PJL cmd from my UBUNTU OS.
Hope you could help me solving my problem.
Thanks and best regards,
Quang Nguyen.
